The Montblanc Star Legacy Chronograph 42mm Limited Edition kind of celebrates the year the top of the Mont Blanc was reached. Apart from this chronograph there is also a 39-millimeter Automatic Date and a 42-millimeter Moonphase, and all three are limited to 1,786 pieces. As it was in 1786 that mountaineer Jacques Balmat and physician Michel-Gabriel Paccard reached the top of the Mont Blanc – which is French for “white mountain”.
It’s not a secret where the name of the German watch and luxury goods brand Montblanc comes from. And the brand often refers to the mountain, and the glacier around it, as part of their heritage. The new series of three models have a dial that matches the rocks on the south side of the mountain. These rocks are grey, sometimes black-ish, and even have some sort of gold shine over it when the sun hits the rocks. It’s is all depicted on the dial, with a glacier pattern that is encircled by a matt hour track.
The Montblanc Star Legacy Chronograph 42mm Limited Edition has a power reserve of 56 hours
The watch runs with the automatic Montblanc caliber MB 25.13 which is revealed through its sapphire case back. It offers small seconds on the left register, and a 30-minute totalizer of the chronograph on the right. At the 6 o’clock position is a date window. The power reserve is 56 hours.
The Montblanc Star Legacy Chronograph 42mm Limited Edition comes on an interchangeable Sfumato grey calf leather strap with alligator print. It closes with a stainless steel triple-folding clasp.
