The Montblanc Star Legacy Automatic Date 43 mm is the more basic version of two new sparkling blue models by MB. There is the Star Legacy Chronograph Day-Date in 43 millimeters, and this is the more dress watch styled Automatic Date. Just like the Chronograph it is limited to 800 pieces.

Design-wise this basic version follows the Star Legacy concept with a strong link to Minerva pocket watches from over a century ago. So it has a round, polished, pebble-shaped case and the renewed crown that looks like an onion. The blue dial has a guilloché pattern of the Montblanc logo that also looks a bit like an exploding star.

The Montblanc Star Legacy Automatic Date 43 mm has a power reserve of 38 hours

It’s quite bold for a dress watch with it’s 43-millimeter stainless steel case, with a thickness of 11 millimeters. Classic, for sure, but with a modern twist due to this bright blue color. The edge of the dial is surrounded with small luminescent dots in white and orange. And all luminescent. The hour and minute hands as well as the Roman numeral and hour markers are rose gold coated and have a white luminous effect. At 3 o’clock there is a date-window.

Inside this Automatic Date is the automatic Montblanc caliber MB 24.17 which can be admired through its stainless steel back with an inset pane of sapphire crystal. It delivers a power reserve of 38 hours. The Montblanc Star Legacy Automatic Date 43 mm comes either on a blue leather strap or an interchangeable stainless steel bracelet.
