The Montblanc Star Legacy Moonphase 42mm Limited Edition is one of three new versions of MB’s Star Legacy collection. All spiced up with a grey glacier pattern dial that kind of looks like the sunny south side of the Mont Blanc’s glacier. Which is the part that has less snow, so more of the rocks are visible. Imagine these rocks when wet and the sun highlights them: they will show rough patterns, and colors of grey, black and even gold. This image is what Montblanc has catched for the dial of their new models.
Just like the 39-millimeter Automatic Date and the 42-millimeter Chronograph this Moonphase is limited to 1,786 pieces. Which refers to the year in which the top of the highest mountain of the Alps and Western-Europa was conquered. The design of the stainless steel case is inspired by vintage Minerva pocket watches. Which is a brand Montblanc’s parent company Richemont acquired in 2006 to secure their know-how of making movements.
The Montblanc Star Legacy Moonphase 42mm Limited Edition has a power reserve of 50 hours
Apart from the glacier-style dial, the most striking part is the moon phase that stands out at the 6 o’clock position. It has a rose gold-coated moon and stars on a blue background that are enclosed by a round date indicator. This complication is part of the automatic Montblanc caliber MB 24.31 which is visible through its sapphire case back. The power reserve is 50 hours.
The Montblanc Star Legacy Moonphase 42mm Limited Edition comes on an interchangeable Sfumato grey calf leather strap with alligator print. It is secured by a stainless steel triple-folding clasp.
