The Frederique Constant X The Avener is the result of a collaboration with The Avener, the stage name of the French DJ Tristan Casara. There are two models: one in stainless steel and one stainless steel version with black DLC treatment. Which is a Diamond Like Coating. And both have a link to music.

First, both models are limited to 432 pieces. This refers to 432 Hertz, the sound frequency that is most appreciated by humans when it comes to listening. Most songs you hear on the radio have their main ‘tones’ around this frequency. The second link are the dials. Both have a dial with sonic wave patterns printed in the center. You will recognize this when looking at equalizers from a sound system for example. And last there “a tempo” printed on the dial which refers to “return to the original speed” – something DJ’s often use to maintain the tempo of their beats.

The Frederique Constant X The Avener has a power reserve of 38 hours

The models measure 39 millimeters in diameter and have a tiny date-window at 6 o’clock. The dial of the stainless steel version is matt black while the wave pattern is printed in blue. The DLC version also has a matt black dial with a wave pattern in black-grey-ish. This version is around 500 euro’s / dollars more expensive.

This timepiece has a transparent screwed case back. It shows the automatic Frederique Constant caliber FC-303 providing 38 hours of power reserve. The stainless steel version comes on a brushed and polished stainless steel 3-link bracelet. You will also get an additional black rubber strap with it. The DLC model comes on a black rubber strap and has an additional black nubuck leather strap as well.
