The Montblanc 1858 Iced Sea Automatic Date Grey Glacier shows a new dial within the 1858 collection. This grey dial is inspired by the ice of one of the Mont-Blanc mountain’s largest glaciers – the Mer de Glace.

The watch has a 41-millimeter stainless steel case with a black ceramic unidirectional bezel with super-luminova makers. The hands are white rhodium-coated, the dial has Arabic numerals and indexes, also with super-luminova. And to stick to the glacier theme the super-luminova lights-up in blue.

The process of making of the glacier dial is called gratté boisé, which creates an image of genuine depth and luminosity. The back of the case displays an engraved 3D relief of an iceberg and a scuba diver. Which refers to scuba diving in the glacial waters below the glacier. The diver meets the ISO 6425 Norm for Diving as it can withstand water pressure up to 30 bar.

The Automatic Date Grey Glacier is equipped with an automatic MB 24.17 caliber, which is based on the Sellita SW200. It offers hours, minutes and central seconds plus date located at the 3 o’clock position. The power reserve is 38 hours.
