This Blancpain Fifty Fathoms 70th Anniversary Act 1 Series I, II and III commemorate the 70^th anniversary of the Fifty Fathoms model. Which was the brands first diver, launched in 1953. It is a limited edition of 210 in total, divided into 3 series of 70 pieces. Why is not clear but Blancpain uses the following regions: Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), Asia-Pacific and the Americas. Each of these three regions will get ‘their own’ Series plus number on the dial. Maybe you want to collect them all.

The watch is 42.3 millimeters, a bit smaller than most new FF’s that will go with 45, and a bit bigger than recent special versions that have 40 millimeters. Like this Blancpain Tribute to Fifty Fathoms MIL-SPEC. The new model has a black sunray-brushed dial that matches the cream-colored super-luminova hands and markers. Nice, as it keeps the classic characteristics of the watch.

Like all new Fifty Fathoms models the dial has the logo on top, then the brand name followed by the model’s name and diving depth capabilities. Under the center you will find the 70^th Anniversary indication and whether you are dealing with a Series I, II or III.

Inside the Blancpain Fifty Fathoms 70th Anniversary Act 1 is an automatic in-house caliber 1315 with a more than sufficient power reserve of 120 hours. And of course, the watch can withstand water up to 300 meters / 1.000 feet. The black NATO strap is made from recycled fishing nets.
