Blancpain is donating the Blancpain Fifty Fathoms 70th Anniversary Act 1 Only Watch for the 10^th biennial charity auction of Only Watch. With this model the brand also celebrates the 70^th anniversary of its legendary Fifty Fathoms that was first launched in 1953. After the Anniversary Act 1, Act 2 and Act 3 models, this unique Only Watch 2023 model features a blue color. And it is still in line with the design of the original FF from 1953.

This remarkable timepiece is housed in a 42.30-millimeter stainless steel case, with a thickness of 14.30 millimeters. So it feels like a proper diver on your wrist. It features a domed sapphire unidirectional bezel in blue. The dial also shows this nice blue, but here it is graduated for a little shiny effect. Furthermore you will find Arabic numerals and baton-type hour-markers filled with super-luminova. For sure the hands also have super-luminova, as well as the markers on the bezel. Between 4 and 5 there is a tiny date-window.

The Blancpain Fifty Fathoms 70th Anniversary Act 1 Only Watch has a power reserve of 120 hours

Inside is an automatic Blancpain caliber 1315 which can be admired through its transparent case back. It has three mainspring barrels which can render a rather impressive power reserve of 120 hours. It is also equipped with a sprung balance fitted with a silicon hairspring for more accuracy and durability.

This diver comes on a blue nylon NATO style strap recycled from fishing nets. And its estimated price for the auction is pretty fair compared to a regular Fifty Fathoms. Especially given the fact that this is the only one ever made.
