The Tonda collection is a prime example of subtle luxury. It is no surprise that the Tonda 1950 has been a popular staple of Parmigiani. Like the Tonda 1950 Steel we featured before, this new Parmigiani Fleurier Tonda 1950 Lune comes in stainless steel.

It’s still understated and boasts the signature streamlined aesthetic and ultra-thin movement, developed and manufactured entirely within the Parmigiani Fleurier manufacture. At the same time, it is a bit more outspoken than the minimalistic Tonda 1950 Steel. This becomes clear when you look at the black dial with its large Delta hands, large date aperture and moon phase. A moon phase made of pink gold discs and only needs correction every three years. While nowadays the industry standard is one correction approximately every 120 years. However, not at the price level of this time piece.

The black dial of the Parmigiani Fleurier Tonda 1950 Lune is subtle but exiting

The small seconds at 6 o’clock balances the moon phase on the black opaline dial. A finish, which lends it a smooth, intense sheen. It also features a highly visible date in a large aperture at 6 o’clock, the first time for this model.

Inside we find the caliber PF708 with a 48-hour power-reserve. As it is standard practice at Parmigiani Fleurier, and one of its hallmarks, there are hand-applied finishes and beveled bridges. Its structure is complemented by ‘Côtes de Genève’ decoration.

The Parmigiani Fleurier Tonda 1950 Lune comes on a matt black alligator leather strap with a deployant buckle that features a five-position adjustment system for some extra comfort.
