The 40-millimeter case of the Tonda 1950 Steel sets it apart. It is slightly larger than the 39 millimeters of the gold model. A small, yet significant difference. Its lugs are straight and slightly concave, harking back to the aesthetics of the Tonda 39 Qualité Fleurier. The Tonda 1950 Steel is available with a black or silver-colored dial, which features an external minute track, with a similar track on the seconds counter.
90 percent of the Parmigiani Fleurier Tonda 1950 Steel is the same as the gold models, including the movement. For the real watch aficionados, a quick bit of trivia: the movement built by Parmigiani’s sister company Vaucher is a variant of the Vaucher 5401. In essence the same movement you also find in the Richard Mille RM 33-01 and the Hermes Slim d’Hermes.
