The Nomos Orion Neomatik 41 Date New Black is the third timepiece among three New Blacks revealed by the German brand. The other two models are smaller and time-only, this 41 Date is slightly bigger and has a date indication. And therefor it runs on another movement.
The round case measures 40.5 millimeters, not 41 as the name suggests. And yes, it has the minimalist Nomos design, making it a subtle dress watch. The black dial is combined with gold hands, and diamond-polished, rhodium-plated hour markers, along with a small seconds sub dial at 6 o’clock. The date is shown on a black background with numbers in gold to match the hand. And on the edge of the dial is a minute track.
The Nomos Orion Neomatik 41 Date New Black has a power reserve of 42 hours
Revealed through its sapphire case back is an automatic Nomos caliber DUW 6101. Highlights are the bidirectional winding rotor with gold-plated embossing, and a Glashütte three-quarter plate. Furthermore it has rhodium-plated surfaces with Glashütte ribbing, Nomos perlage and golden engravings The caliber has a thickness of 3.6 millimeters, the reason why the case is slim. The power reserve is 42 hours.
