The Certina DS-1 Skeleton features three new models to enter the DS-1 range with open-worked dials. It comes either in white, blue or brown, all with a skeletonized dial. And even when it is missing a part of the dial, it still has the DS signature: Double Security. Which is Certina speak for the fact that the watch can withstand shocks and water. The latter up to 100 meters / 330 feet deep.

This new DS-1 is crafted in a 40-millimeter stainless steel case with a thickness of 10.98 millimeters. The color part can be found on what’s left of the dial, the outer ring. Each model has oversized golden indexes as hour markers as well as golden PVD hour, minute and second hands. On the front you can see the matt grey frame of the movement holding gears, jewels and the balance spring.

The Certina DS-1 Skeleton has a power reserve of 80 hours

Keeping the time is done by the automatic ETA Powermatic 80.631, also visible through the transparent case back. It is equipped with a titanium-based alloy Nivachron balance spring that secures the watch from magnetism, shocks, ageing and temperature variations. It delivers a total power reserve of 80 hours as the name of the caliber suggests.

The Certina DS-1 Skeleton comes on a stainless steel 5-link bracelet if you go for the white dial. The blue dial comes on a stainless steel Milanese mesh bracelet. And lastly, the brown dial has a brown leather strap with alligator pattern. All with steel folding clasp.
