Certina presents three models of the Certina DS-1 Day Date. Two models with a white dial, and one in black. The DS concept was introduced by Certina in the 1960s to enhance the durability and water resistance of their watches. This DS-1 Day Date typically falls within the brand’s DS or Double Security collection, which is known for its robust and durable design.

It features a white or black dial with an open aperture at 12 o’clock for the day. At 6 o’clock there is a date window. The model with white dial is either available with blue or gold colored hands. While the black dial model features only gold colored hands. And when you have gold colored hands there are also gold colored indexes. A 24-hour track is visible on the white/blue and black/gold versions, on the white/gold version that track is replaced by a round gold colored bar.

The Certina DS-1 Day Date has a power reserve of 38 hours

The model runs on the automatic Swiss ETA caliber 2834-2 which is visible through its transparent case back. It is a reliable day/date movement also used by many other brands, and is has been updated by ETA over the years. The power reserve is about 38 to 42 hours.

The Certina DS-1 Day Date is offered with a leather strap with pin buckle for the white dial versions. The black version is offered with a Milanese stainless steel bracelet with folding clasp. All models feature a quick-release system, facilitating effortless strap interchangeability.
