A new Retrograde Day-Date with a new dial color, with a great matching case material, inspired by watches from the 1920s, 1930s and 1940s; this is the Vacheron Constantin Patrimony Retrograde Day-Date Platinum. A direct relative from the first retrograde day-date that was launched in 2006, the reference 86020.

The minimalistic design and retrograde complications come from the 1920s and 1930s. A salmon-colored dial combined with a steel-colored case comes from the 1930s as well. And it was in the 1940s that Vacheron Constantin starts to release timepieces with a salmon dial. It was also in the 1940s that Vacheron Constantin created the first wristwatch with a retrograde date. (And day indication, but not retrograde.)

This is the reference 3620 that also has a minute repeater. It was made for the Spanish businessman Francisco Martinez Llano who was called Don Pancho by his friends. Which is why the one-off watch is called de Vacheron Constantin Don Pancho.

From the reference 3620 we fly to the reference 86020 that is launched in 2006. Designwise it comes very close to the Vacheron Constantin Patrimony Retrograde Day-Date Platinum from today.

The Vacheron Constantin Patrimony Retrograde Day-Date Platinum is only available in VC’s boutiques

The color salmon combines most wonderful with steel, white gold, or platinum, which is the reason why you will find that more often on watches. Although it also depends on the era as in what’s fashionable or not. As you will notice, a white or steel color on a salmon dial looks good, black as well but dark blue is the perfect match. So, most salmon watches have these colors.

The Vacheron Constantin Patrimony Retrograde Day-Date Platinum has it all: a salmon dial, a platinum case, and blue and black accents on the dial. It’s an almost serene dress watch. The Retrograde concept for the Patrimony series is not new. There is a Patrimony Moon Phase Retrograde Date with different case materials and the Retrograde Day-Date is also available in white gold and pink gold, both with a white dial and the latter also with a blue dial.

All 42.5 millimeters, all driven by the automatic Vacheron Constantin 2460 R31R7/3 caliber. Which has a 40-hour power reserve and Hallmark of Geneva certification. This platinum version is only available at one of the boutiques of Vacheron Constantin.
