The Parmigiani Fleurier Tonda Metrographe Automatic is updated for 2017 with some subtle changes. The fully polished case is still 40 millimeters but it has become a little thinner: from 12.2 millimeters to 11.7 millimeters.

Most significant change is the dial which comes in two new colors: silvered white or oxidized black, with hands in matching colors. With the new dial the chronograph counters are smaller and have a raised periphery to create more depth and details. The centers are decorated with snailing. The position of the date window changed location from 6 to 12 o’clock. The rhodium plated indexes are a bit smaller and around the hour markers is a tachymeter scale. All these changes make the dial less clean, without disturbing its sophisticated looks.

A double-sided hand on the subdial at 3 o’clock shows the running seconds. An element we have seen on the Tonda Chronor Anniversaire. The subdial at 6 o’clock indicates the hours of the chronograph while the subdial at 9 shows the 30-minute counter.

Inside the Tonda Metrographe Automatic is Parmigiani’s PF315 automatic movement with a module for the 1/4-second chronograph. No need to change that. If you go for the silvered white dial you will get a brown leather strap, the black dial comes with a black leather strap.
