Maurice Lacroix presents two new variants for the Aikon series, the Maurice Lacroix Aikon PVD. It comes either in midnight blue or gunmetal grey. As the name implies, PVD refers to the PVD coating implemented on the case and bezel. The design is inspired by the Maurice Lacroix Calypso, a model from the 1990s, and both new models are limited to 888 pieces.
These two new Aikons are a bit different. One is blue PVD-plated measuring 39 millimeters, the other one is gunmetal grey PVD-plated and measures 42 millimeters. However, both have a thickness of 11 millimeters. Both have a monochromatic hue, from the case, bezel, dial, down to the straps. So all-blue or all-gunmetal grey. The dial adorned with a Clous de Paris motif, however, on the gunmetal version, it is furnished with a fume design. Which makes the center of the dial brighter, while it is getting darker towards the edges of the dial.
The Maurice Lacroix Aikon PVD has a power reserve of 38 hours
The models run on an automatic Maurice Lacroix caliber ML115, a Sellita SW200-1 based movement, here without date. You can see parts of it through the transparent case back. The power reserve is 38 hours.
The Maurice Lacroix Aikon PVD comes on a blue or grey rubber strap, secured with a PVD coated pin buckle. And it has an easy exchange system for a hassle free swap of straps.
