The Maurice Lacroix Aikon Chronograph 44 mm is not really new, it has been updated with a blue dial and a blue strap. The Aikon Chronograph was launched in 2016 and this version is an extension to the collection.

The model is inspired by the Maurice Lacroix Calypso which was in production from 1990 until 2003. The main characteristic is the prominent bezel, incorporating six “arms” embracing the form. A cool feature, giving the watch a clear and unique signature.

The Maurice Lacroix Aikon Chronograph 44 mm in blue is the fifth model within the Aikon Chronograph collection

Less unique and quite unclear is the movement. It is probably an ETA, which is fine, but Maurice Lacroix did not provide any information at all. The press release just states “it’s a quartz”. No problem for a 20-dollar watch but when one has to pay more than a 1,000 dollars or euro’s you want to know what’s inside. If you don’t mind, it’s a good looking quality quartz, otherwise look for some nice alternatives.
