The Jaeger-LeCoultre Duomètre Quantième Lunaire is one out of three new Jaeger-LeCoultre models within the Duomètre collection. Maybe new isn’t the right word: the collection is extended with new dial colors.

The Duomètre Quantième Lunaire model is for moon phase lovers as it features the moon phase on a large sub dial on the left of the main dial. Around that sub dial is the date. On the right sub dial, there is the time and at 6 o’clock are the flying seconds.

The Jaeger-LeCoultre Duomètre Quantième Lunaire is also available in smaller sized versions

Apart from this Duomètre Quantième Lunaire Jaeger releases the Duomètre Chronographe and the Duomètre Sphérotourbillon. The Duomètre series use Jaegers double-wing concept, which they first used in 2007. Basically, it’s a concept of two power-sources for one watch. Which means two barrels, two separate and independent mechanisms linked to a single regulating organ. This solution creates constant power to the gear trains and escapement to get the most accurate measurement of time while ‘using’ one or more of the complications at the same time. Therefor the watch has two power-reserve indicators at 5 and 7 o’clock.

Keep in mind that there are more Duomètre Quantième Lunaire models with smaller cases (this one is 42 millimeters) and dials that are not partly open, either in pink gold or white gold.

Jaeger-LeCoultre’s history goes back to 1833, but only in 1907 a Mr Jaeger meets a Mr LeCoultre. And 30 years after that they founded a company. Here you can read more about the history of Jaeger-LeCoultre
