The F.P. Journe Chronographe FB is the sixth and last model of the Tokyo Boutique Anniversaire Series. It all started 20 years ago when FPJ opened its first boutique in Tokyo. Later, more would follow but to celebrate the first, in 2005 the Chronomètre Souverain (20 pieces) was launched. That model got a follow-up with the Chronomètre à Résonance in 2006 (12 pieces).
In 2007 the Tourbillon Souverain (20 pieces) was launched, then the Octa Perpétuelle in 2009 (99 pieces) and, finally, the F.P. Journe Centigraphe Souverain in 2016 to celebrate the 10th anniversary of each of its Boutiques. That model is limited to 80 pieces, each piece being numbered and engraved with the name of the corresponding city of the boutique.
Chronograph with a 2-minutes revolution
The first unusual thing about this F.P. Journe Chronographe FB is the chronograph seconds counter. This makes a 2-minutes revolution. Which also influences the tachymeter scale, which is adjusted for measuring speeds counting with a 2-minute revolution of the seconds hand.
At the 3 o’clock position is a 60-minutes counter with each jump of the hand equaling 2 minutes. Also rather unusual. The sub dial is open-worked. And at the 9 o’clock position is a sub dial for the small seconds, also open-worked. At 6 there is a big date aperture.
The F.P. Journe Chronographe FB has a power reserve of 80 hours
Inside is the manual-winding F.P. Journe caliber 1518.2, a movement that is executed in 18K rose gold. It has circular stripes on the bridges, circular graining on the baseplate and polished screw heads with chamfered slots. Furthermore, pegs with polished rounded ends, straight-grained steel work and a power reserve of 80 hours.
The F.P. Journe Chronographe FB comes on a burgundy alligator leather strap with a gold folding clasp. The watch is limited to 200 pieces and will be the last limited series of the Tokyo Boutique Anniversaire Series.
