In 2012 Christiaan van der Klaauw presented the Real Moon Joure, part of the Real Moon collection of astronomical watches. The collection features more than ten models with different dial colors and/or case materials, all with a very clean dial layout. And a moon phase complication. This Christiaan van der Klaauw Real Moon Joure Horizon, a special edition, has a gorgeous colorful dial.
The dial is oil-painted by the artist Gaël Colon. It suggests the sun peaking over a moon landscape. Bright and clear in shades of blue and white. At 6 o’clock there is a three-dimensional moon indicating the true moon phase. The 3D miniature moon is also hand-made and the indication is quite precise.
