The Christiaan van der Klaauw Real Moon Joure Green Meteorite combines a special dial with a special moon phase. It is available in three versions: stainless steel, rose gold or white gold. And each of these versions can be adorned with diamonds if you want. From now on the model gets the new 2024 manufacture movement as a base. But first the looks.
The case measures 40 millimeters and comes with the signature dial of CVDK. Indexes on the upper half of the dial, the main attraction on the lower part of the dial. Which is a three-dimensional moon phase, clearly showing the light and dark side of the real moon. And when you take a closer look, you will notice that the moon even has a moon-like surface. Also, the moon phase complication is pretty accurate with a deviation of only one day in 11,000 years.
Special meteorite dial
The dial is a slice of meteorite, here in green. Which means that not a single dial is exactly the same as each slice has its own pattern. The green color forms a nice contrast with the rose gold, however the green color with the steel and white gold versions are a great combination too.
Inside the watch runs the new, in-house (manufacture) Christiaan van der Klaauw caliber as a base. It has a uni-directional automatic winding system, a free sprung hair spring and a variable-inertia balance wheel. The finish is a piece of astronomical art, with star-shaped bridges with hand circular finishing, and a frosted star decoration with rhodium plating.
The Christiaan van der Klaauw Real Moon Joure Green Meteorite has a power reserve of 60 hours
More decorations can be found on the main plate with perlage decoration and rhodium plating. The rotor has the shape of the CVDK logo, a claw, and is rose gold-plated brass and skeletonized. The tungsten weight on the outside diameter of the rotor is rhodium plated. The new manufacture movement only displays hours and minutes and delivers a power reserve of 60 hours. On top of the movement CVDK builds its astronomical complication module, depending on the watch model.
The Christiaan van der Klaauw Real Moon Joure Green Meteorite comes on a black leather strap with case matching folding clasp. Versions with the bezel set with diamonds are on average 15,000 to 20,000 more expensive.
