The Omega Speedmaster 38 Diamond version joins the Speedmaster 38 series, a smaller Speedy that includes lots of shine. Like these new eight references, from which four are executed in gold and four in stainless steel, and all with diamonds. So, models like this are not an exception anymore in the Speedmaster range.

Two of the 38-millimeter Speedmasters come in Sedna gold – Omega speak for a red gold with a higher resistance to the fading of color and luster over time than regular 19k gold. Then there are two versions in Moonshine gold, also an Omega name, this time for a yellow gold toned gold with better fading resistance. And lastly four models in classic stainless steel.

Top Wesselton diamonds on the bezel

All the new Speedmaster 38 Diamond versions come with either a green or a brown dial, which is PVD coated. This Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) strengthens the colors and color depth, and here it is brightened up with silvery coated sub dials.

The bezel is paved with diamonds, approximately 1.5 carats, and there are three diamond rings around the sub dials. Plus two small diamonds around the 12 o’clock marker. Omega uses so called white Top Wesselton diamonds, which is a grade of diamonds (TW) that can be found mainly in rivers instead of mines and have a great clarity. In fact, one of the highest grades in the world of shiny stones.

The Omega Speedmaster 38 Diamond version has a power reserve of 52 hours

Inside is an automatic Omega caliber 3330, which is based on an ETA 7753, offering a power reserve of 52 hours. It is COSC certified to underline its precision and is executed with a co-axial escapement to reduce friction. Furthermore, is has a free sprung-balance equipped with Si14 silicon balance spring. The watch doesn’t have an exhibition case back to flaunt it unfortunately.

The Omega Speedmaster 38 Diamond version comes on a Sedna gold bracelet, a Moonshine gold bracelet, or a stainless steel bracelet. However, you can also get it with a color matching leather strap, secured with a fold-over clasp.
