50 years of Casio watches is celebrated with this Casio Casiotron TRN-50, a re-creation of the Casiotron QW02 from 1974. The new model features the same design as the first-ever digital timepiece with an automatic calendar function. But now it is revamped and improved and comes as a limited edition of 4,000 pieces worldwide.

Just like the first Casiotron, this new one is crafted in a stainless steel case that echoes the same shape. With a grind-mark finish on the top surface and a mirror finish on the sides. It also displays the time, month, date, and day of the week, with an automatic calendar function that smoothly adjusts for both longer and shorter months. However, it still cannot deal with the 29^th of February in leap years. But luckily it has radio controlled time adjustment.

The Casio Casiotron TRN-50 charges with solar power

It infuses more advanced features like solar charging, and mobile link functions for pairing with a smartphone. And it still has the dark blue dial with Casiotron logo, now along with a highly readable super-twisted nematic (STN) LCD.

Inside is Casio’s quartz caliber 3542 with a battery life of 11 months after a full charge. Then you can use all functions without the need to solar charge. And it lasts 22 months with the power-saving function on after a full charge. In real life, especially when you come outside, you will not even notice it charges all the time.

The Casio Casiotron TRN-50 is available with a stainless steel bracelet, also reminiscent of the first 1974 Casiotron model. The screw-lock case back is engraved with an unique serial number.
