This Angelus U22 Tourbillon is the titanium brother of the Angelus U21 Tourbillon that comes in red gold. Both models are based on the 2016 Angelus U20 Ultra-Skeleton Tourbillon and they feature the same movement: the Angelus A-250 caliber. Which is a hand-wound caliber with a one-minute flying tourbillon.
The watch has no dial and no bezel. Instead of a dial it is open-worked to provide a perfect view on the movement and the back plate that holds the movement and tourbillon. The back plate is from carbon-fiber, light and strong, and appeals to the car racing industry. The back plate of the gold version is clean, the back plate of this Angelus U22 Tourbillon features an ‘A’ from Angelus at the 4 o’clock position.
The Angelus U22 Tourbillon combines carbon-fiber with titanium
The racy appeal becomes even stronger by the carbon-fiber case, and titanium lugs and bridges. Where possible parts are skeletonized. Therefor the Angelus U22 Tourbillon only weights 54 grams in total. Another racy element are the hands which are filled with red super-luminova. And the minute markers are red as well. Perhaps a perforated leather strap with red stitches would have topped it off although the stealth black leather strap supplied looks fine.
Like the U21 this Angelus U22 Tourbillon is limited to 18 pieces.
