The British brand introduces yet another Chronofighter: the Graham Chronofighter Superlight Carbon. One of Graham’s most eye-catching watches this year.

The big chronograph, 47 mm in diameter, weighs just 100 grams because of its Superlight carbon case. To be precise, carbon has been used for the dial, trigger lever, bezel and the buckle. So, everywhere Graham could shave off a couple of grams they did.

The Graham Chronofighter Superlight Carbon is big yet light

The specs are what you are used to if you look at some of the other Chronofighters we featured: the Graham Vintage Aircraft Ltd. Inside we find Graham’s own (Valjoux based) caliber G1747. A trusty automatic and the chronograph with the start/stop trigger is a nice addition, and something different than a regular chronograph set-up. With the Superlight Carbon case the trigger is more subtle and smaller.

Yes, okay, it’s still a bit over the top, but unique just the same. And because it is a chronograph, you kind of expect a bigger size. With the Superlight Carbon series they offer that size, but with a more manageable weight.

A watch brand like Graham, which was there at the start of chronographs, had to go exotic sometime. The use of carbon is not a first of course, not by a longshot. But the way Graham uses the lightweight material, with a matte finish on the case and a shinier bezel, works perfectly. Something they are welcome to do in their other product lines.
