The Only Watch 2021 auction that was held in Geneva on the 6th of November and raised more than 30 million Swiss francs. Which is about 28.5 million euros or 32.1 million US dollars. Which brings the total amount raised over the years to more than 100 million. Actually this auction did 29’740’000 Swiss franc. And a generous bidder donated another 260’000 Siwss francs to make is exactly 30 million. But talking about money in relation to a good cause is a bit not done right?
In total 54 one-off horological creations made by 53 of the most renewed watch brands in the world were auctioned. And the funds raised will be spend on Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy research.
The biennial auction is supported by an important part of the watch industry
Like all diseases it is necessary to do a lot of research because this genetic disease that concerns 1 in 3,500 boys, and progressively weakens all the muscles. Which happened to the son of founder Luc Pettavino and his wife Monique.
