The Tudor Black Bay 58 GMT Burgundy-Black is the first 39-millimeter GMT in the 58 series. Which is named after the year in which the first Tudor divers’ watch was introduced. That was the Tudor Submariner with reference 7924, a 37-millimeter diver, waterproof up to 200 meters and equipped with a big crown. Now, the design of the 58 series follows that 1950s design.

The 58’s are 39 millimeters, and this GMT is from stainless steel. It features a 24-hour bidirectional rotatable bezel, also in steel, in a burgundy-black color on an anodized aluminum insert. It has a black dial with gilt applied hour markers, a tiny date-window at 3 o’clock and snowflake hands, a signature feature of Tudors that comes back on the whole Black Bay series.

The Tudor Black Bay 58 GMT Burgundy-Black has a power reserve of 65 hours

Inside is an automatic Tudor caliber MT5450-U which is METAS and COSC certified. Meaning, its standards are incredibly high when it comes to precision, resistance to magnetic fields, waterproofness, and power reserve. The latter is 65 hours.

The Tudor Black Bay 58 GMT Burgundy-Black comes either on a three-link stainless steel bracelet – rivet-style. Or go for the black rubber strap. It is secured with a Tudor “T” fit clasp. And since the GMT-Master II from Tudor’s parent company Rolex is not available with this “Coke” style colored bezel, this Tudor is a perfect and more affordable alternative.
