The Tudor Black Bay Ceramic Blue shows the brand’s partnership with the Visa Cash App RB Formula One team. Which is kind of the B-team of Red Bull with a tongue breaking name for which Daniel Ricciardo and Yuki Tsunoda drive fast. They are not competing for any title as they are not that fast. But the combination of an experienced driver with a younger one who needs to be lined-up for a top level looks to be the goal.

For Tudor it’s a possibly to shine on the wrist of a Formula One driver. Rolex is one of the main sponsors of the F1, and brands like Richard Mille (McLaren and Ferrari), IWC (Mercedes) and TAG Heuer (Red Bull Racing) sponsor individual teams. So, Rolex’ sister brand enters the car racing arena as well.

Visa Cash App RB Formula One team livery

Instead of creating a real racing watch, Tudor takes a ceramic diver. It’s like providing a diving expedition with a racing chronograph with a tachymeter scale on a fixed bezel. Yes, the color matches the Visa Cash App RB Formula One team livery, and yes, it’s a very nice and solid watch, but it lacks F1 connection. Unless the brand anticipates on a new flying pool dive of Ricciardo, like he did after his 2018 Monaco win.

This Black Bay will certainly withstand a pool dive, even way more with a waterproofness of 200 meters / 660 feet. The 41-millimeter case is from ceramic, in matt black, the unidirectional bezel is from steel with PVD coating and a ceramic inlay. Like every Black Bay it has snowflake hands, here with grade X1 super-luminova.

The Tudor Black Bay Ceramic Blue has a power reserve of 70 hours

This Tudor Black Bay Ceramic Blue runs on the Tudor caliber MT5602-1U, a METAS and COSC certified movement with a power reserve of 70 hours. The caliber is in fact the rock-solid MT5602 but now blackened.

The watch comes with two straps. A hybrid leather / rubber strap with blue stitching and folding clasp in black PVD-treated steel. And a black fabric strap with blue band and black PVD treated steel buckle.
