Another Monaco has been released, this is the TAG Heuer Monaco Chronograph Night Driver. The unique, square-faced icon of the brand’s heritage has one of the most renewed watches for more than 50 years. The Monaco collection gets bigger and bigger, this year a handful new variants were launched. This model features a two-tone grey dial with an entire luminous effect in blue, for a clearer vision at night.
Normally, the indexes and hands are coated with some sort of luminescent material. This Monaco Chronograph Night Driver almost completely lights up in the dark. The corners around the round inner dial are luminescent, and the hour and minute hands together with the chronograph seconds hand obviously as well. And all hour index-dots. However, even the chronograph sub counters are visible in the dark, where the numerals and indexes plus the hands on these sub dials are not luminescent. But the contrast makes them perfectly readable.
The TAG Heuer Monaco Chronograph Night Driver has a power reserve of 80 hours
Like most Monaco’s its size is like the original: 39 x 39 millimeters. It has a thickness of 14.7 millimeters and is made from grade 5 titanium, which adds lightness and durability. Inside is the TAG Heuer caliber 02 , which is visible through its sapphire case back. The movement uses a traditional column wheel to reliably operate the chronograph and it has a power reserve of 80 hours.
This TAG Heuer Monaco Chronograph Night Driver comes on a black perforated calfskin strap with light grey stitching. It is secured with a black DLC grade 5 titanium folding clasp with double safety push-buttons. And it is limited to 600 pieces only.
