Seiko is unveiling four new revived editions of the iconic Prospex Speedtimer which is the Seiko Prospex Speedtimer 1-100 sec Solar Chronograph. Originally released in the 1960s and a design influenced by Seiko’s abundant and progressive heritage of sport watches. Two of the four versions, the SFJ005 and SFJ007, are a limited edition of 4,000 pieces each.

The latest Prospex Speedtimers are housed in a 42-millimeter stainless steel case. They all feature a 1/100^th of a second chronograph counter at 2 o’clock. Furthermore there is a seconds counter at 12 o’clock and a 1/10^th of a second counter at 10 o’clock. And lastly, the biggest dial displaying the main time is located at 6 o’clock. But when the stopwatch function is activated, the dial with the main time becomes a 60-minute counter, with the hour hand covered by the minute hand.

Reference SFJ001 has a white and black dial, the SFJ003 has a full black dial, and both are equipped with a plain stainless steel bracelet. The limited edition SFJ005 has a gray and black dial, and marks the 40th anniversary of the world’s first analog quartz chronograph. Which was launched in 1983. The other limited edition with reference SFJ007 has an entire black dial and black bracelet. This one celebrates the sporting heritage of both Seiko and the World Athletics Championships. As Seiko is the official timekeeper of the World Athletics Championships for the 18^th time.

Inside the Seiko Prospex Speedtimer 1-100 sec Solar Chronograph is the quartz Seiko caliber 8A550. It charges with light and has a battery life of 6 months, when you use the chronograph for no longer than one hour a day.
