Parmigiani Fleurier is introducing two new Ovale Pantographes. The watch, inspired by an oval pocket watch from 1780, has two unique telescopic hands. Without a doubt, the Parmigiani Fleurier Ovale Pantographe is one of the highlights of limited editions by Parmigiani Fleurier.
An oval case is nice, but difficult for adding appropriate hands. The solution: telescopic ones. An invention by Jardon & Stedmann, used for their pocket watch. The same one that Parmigiani restored in their workshop in 1997.
The watchmaking brand was founded in 1996 in Fleurier, in the Swiss valley of Val-de-Travers. With its own watchmaking center ensuring its independence, the brand has both full control over the production process and unique creative freedom. Hence, the freedom to restore an old pocket watch.
Both versions of the Parmigiani Fleurier Ovale Pantographe are limited to 50 pieces
The Oval Pantographe already existed before, but now there is a limited edition of 50 pieces per case. One in pink gold and one in white gold. This time around the in-house PF11 movement, which is also executed in pure gold. You can admire the decorated gold movement through the sapphire glass case back. A caliber with an impressive power reserve of 8 days.
It is a pity that you don’t really see the telescopic hands move. The movement is so gradual that it is barely noticeable. But perhaps we are wrong and it’s not as classy to see the hands move like mad. The meticulous attention to detail concludes with the black alligator strap made by none other than Hermès.
