The Panerai Radiomir 1940 3 Days Automatic Acciaio is the modernized version of the classic Radiomir. This Radiomir from the Italian watchmaker dates originally from 1940, as you could guess from its name, though Panerai began developing the Radiomir in 1936. Made for commandos of the Italian Navy, or at least that’s what they say. This new version is completely modernized, without prejudice to the classic design.

Panerai’s angular signature of the case, clearly readable and gracefully simple dials are the most eye-catching features. Every watch lover will recognize a Panerai from a far distance. The seconds hand has its own position in this model. The hands and hour markers glow in the dark (with a sort of brown shade to keep it vintage), very typical for Panerai. And of course you can go under water up to 100 meters.

The Panerai Radiomir 1940 3 Days Automatic comes with Panerai’s own caliber

Inside, you will find the P.4000 caliber developed by Panerai. Is has a power reserve of 72 hours, three days. The case is made from polished steel and has a diameter of 42 millimeters. The back offers a glimpse at the P.4000 caliber from a round window. This caliber has a micro-rotor placed in the center of the movement to keep the movement as small as possible. As a result, the Panerai Radiomir 1940 3 Days Automatic is only 10.93 millimeters high.

The crown is labeled ‘OP’: Officine Panerai. The vintage strap is beautifully made of untreated calf leather with contrasting stitching. Fits perfectly well with the classic look of the watch.
