The Longines Spirit collection is enriched with a chronograph: this is the Longines Spirit Flyback Chronograph 42 mm and its ‘spirit’ goes back to 1925. In that year Longines issued their first chronograph watch with a flyback function which they patented 10 years later. Why be in a hurry, right? And flyback means that a single press of a chronograph pusher enables three operations: stop, reset and restart. Conventional chronographs require the stop and reset functions to be activated before restarting the timing function, so a flyback chronograph is easier to operate and ‘saves’ time.

This new Longines Spirit Flyback Chronograph 42 mm has a stainless steel case with either a black or a blue sunray brushed dial. It features a bi­directional bezel with colored ceramic insert that has super-luminova on all indications. The hour and minute hands as well as the numerals are bronze-shaded, which gives the watch a certain vintage sweep. And of course the hands and numerals are treated with super-luminova too. Like almost all chrono’s the running seconds are at 9 o’clock and the 30-minute sub-counter is at 3 o’clock.

Inside the watch is a completely new developed automatic, the caliber L791.4. It has a power reserve of 68 hours and COSC certification. The case back is transparent so you can see the movement running on the back side, with the decorated oscilating weight .

The Longines Spirit Flyback Chronograph 42 mm comes with different straps. For the black dial-version you can choose between a beige NATO strap, a brown leather strap, or a stainless steel bracelet. For the blue one there is a choice between a blue leather strap or a stainless steel bracelet. They all have a folding clasp and are easy to adjust to find the right fit.
