IWC introduces a complete new Ingenieur line with this IWC Ingenieur Automatic 40 mm as the entry-level model. It is also the one that comes closest to the 1950s IWC on which its design is inspired. That IWC Ingenieur model was launched in 1955 with reference 666, a subtle three-handed dress watch. This new IWC Ingenieur Automatic 40 mm shows the same design.

And the IWC Ingenieur Perpetual Calendar Digital Date-Month.

The IWC Ingenieur Automatic 40 mm comes in three versions

There are three versions: two stainless steel ones with either a silver-plated or black dial and a red gold one with slate-gray dial. The stainless steel version with black dial has a steel bracelet, the stainless steel version with silver-plated dials and the gold version have a black leather strap.

As said, this IWC Ingenieur Automatic 40 mm is the entry-level featuring IWC’s caliber 35111 with hours, minutes, seconds and date. Unlike the other models, it has a solid back so you can’t see the movement. A “simple watch”, as IWC calls it. Due to its size and simplicity it is a perfect everyday watch.
