The Hublot Spirit of Big Bang Titanium Dragon is the result of a collaboration with Chen Fenwan and the Swiss watch brand. The watch also commemorates the start of the Chinese New Year, the Year of the Dragon. As in the Chinese calendar, 2024, which is 4722 according to the Chinese calendar, is the Year of the Wood Dragon, which occurs once every 60 years. The dragon is a symbol of power, strength, and good fortune.

Chen Fenwan is a Chinese paper artist with a degree from the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts. Her artistic focus is on large-scale, multi-dimensional pieces predominantly using paper, infusing them with narrative imagination. Embracing this Chinese tradition, Hublot and Chen Fenwan merged traditional Chinese ‘sculpture in the round’ with contemporary art, resulting in a striking and dynamic portrayal of a dragon, also known as a loong.

The Hublot Spirit of Big Bang Titanium Dragon has a power reserve of 50 hours

This Spirit of Big Bang has a 42-millimeter satin-finished and polished titanium case. The contrast of this metal with the colorful dial looks great. The dial has detailed layers as seen in paper cutting to create a strong three-dimensional effect. This involves placing several layers of appliqués on a base panel, seamlessly integrating with the components of the movement. Which is the automatic Hublot caliber HUB1710 delivering a power reserve of 50 hours.

The Hublot Spirit of Big Bang Titanium Dragon comes on a rubber strap, complimenting the color theme of the dial with a marquetry motif. Every scale on the dragon is colored and finely fused into the strap using nano-vulcanization. This meticulous and artistic process is entirely done by hand, demanding approximately 8 hours to complete one strap.

This Titanium Dragon Hublot is limited to 88 pieces.
