Lapo Elkann, the playboy of the Agnelli-family and heir of the Fiat empire, has collaborated with Hublot since 2014. He has done this with his design-firm Italia Independent and this Hublot Big Bang One Click Italia Independent is the latest collaboration.
Other results of this collaboration were a couple of limited editions Hublot x Italia Independent sunglasses. And several (not so subtle) watch creations. Studded denim straps and dials made of fabric just to name two.
This latest iteration is the first women’s watch made by Italia Independent and Hublot. The One Click Italia Independent. The One Click refers to the simple way of changing the strap. Three different colors are available: dark blue, blue and purple. And the three can be mixed with a simple click at the leisure of the wearer.
Each model of the Hublot Big Bang One Click Italia Independent is limited to 100 pieces
But there is something else that deserves a bit more attention: the use of velvet. It covers not only the strap, but also the dial of this Big Bang.
Design-wise, the Hublot Big Bang One Click Italia Independent shares some visual cues from the more masculine Big Bang Unico, but without a chronograph and with another bezel. This bezel is set with 42 brilliant cut diamonds and Hublot adds ten more on the velvet dial.
Inside the 39-millimeter ceramic case we find the automatic HUB1710 caliber with a power reserve of 50 hours. Each of the three Hublot Big Bang One Click Italia Independent editions are limited to 100 pieces.
