The Hublot Big Bang MP-11 Power Reserve 14 Days Water Blue Sapphire is another variant of the Big Bang MP-11 with immense power. In 2018 the Big Bang MP-11 was introduced and since then five models have been released. From which two with a sapphire case. So, this new Water Blue Sapphire is the sixth MP-11 and the third sapphire model. And still a masterpiece that fascinates whenever you look at it.

In order to get as much power reserve as possible you need the least internal friction possible and the strongest and most springs as well. The first two have been sorted out already for years by almost every brand – although here and there they still find solutions to improve – which only leaves the third: more springs.

7 series-coupled barrels means super power

Most brands who are in need of more energy for their movements, use a double barrel system. It takes-up some space but with a good design of the movement, a place will be found to house them in the case. But what do you do when you want more energy for your movement?

Hublot’s solution is radical as well as it makes sense. They place the barrels with the springs vertically instead of horizontally. A solution that also offers the possibility to use more than two barrels. In fact, they used 7 barrels, series-coupled, leading to 336 hours or 14 days of power reserve.

The Hublot Big Bang MP-11 Power Reserve 14 Days Water Blue Sapphire has a power reserve of 336 hours, or 14 days

As you might forget when to wind the Hublot caliber HUB9011 there is a power reserve display roll on the dial to remind you. The time is displayed on a sub dial at the 12 o’clock position and the rest of the transparent dial offers you a view on all the mechanics. And because the 45-millimeter case, bezel, dial and back are from sapphire you can admire the tech from every angle.

The Hublot Big Bang MP-11 Power Reserve 14 Days Water Blue Sapphire comes on a water blue transparent lined structured rubber strap. It is secured by a titanium deployant buckle clasp. Like almost all Hublot’s the watch is a limited edition, here of 50 pieces.
