The Edox SkyDiver 38 Date Automatic is the latest addition to the SkyDiver collection and it is now available in 38 millimeters. And as Edox is aiming for a larger customer base, this rather serious diver / pilot becomes ‘unisex’ as they say, which means you can choose from a lot of dial colors.
The SkyDiver was originally designed in the 1960s and used by Swiss paratroopers and the military during the 1960s and 1970s. So, you can dive with it, and is has the readability of a pilot’s watch. The ceramic bezel helps with diving, the oversized screw-down crown makes it easier for pilots to adjust their watch. And the new Edox SkyDiver 38 Date Automatic has this 1960s design with details like beige super-luminova and domed sapphire crystal.
It’s possible to have your Edox SkyDiver 38 Date Automatic in pink
Inside this SkyDiver is the Edox caliber 80 which is based on the well-known Sellita SW200. A reliable automatic with date, providing a power reserve of 38 hours. The stainless steel case assures a water resistance of 300 meters / 990 feet. On the case back the logo of a paratrooper unit is depicted to give it some more skydive credibility.
This decoration might be a little bit necessary as the basic black dial-version really looks great. It has the vintage size, matt dial and aged-like hands and indices. But, the watch is also available in purple, pink, and other shiny and bright colors, and cases in pink PVD. That is a bit less paratrooper style. Fans might want to buy the Edox SkyDiver 38 Date Automatic when it only had the more or less original military style, but on the other hand: pink, light blue and yellow MoonSwatches are hard-sellers these days…
