This is the Edox CO-1 Chronograph Titanium, the first fully titanium chronograph in the CO-1 series from Edox. This series was originally released in 2006 when Edox started to be involved with the timing of power boat racing.

Like the names reveals this model is made from titanium, which is lighter than regular steel. Especially with watches of this size – 45 millimeters – weight plays an important role to make it comfortable to wear. Which is why the bracelet is also from titanium. Obviously the size of the Edox CO-1 Chronograph Titanium has to do with its diving capabilities.

First you want to have a big watch for good under water readability. Second, it is easier to operate with gloves when using the bezel, pushers or crown – although you would better not unscrew it deeply under water. And third and last, it houses a helium valve to let out helium molecules after the decompression stage of a saturation dive.

The Edox CO-1 Chronograph Titanium can reach serieus depths

So, the CO-1 Chronograph Titanium is a proper diving watch. And apart from a rotating bezel it also features a chronograph function and small date. The silvery hour and minute hands and markers are filled with super-luminova and the water resistance reaches up to a 1,000 meters / 3,300 feet. Whereas most average divers watches reach up to 300 meters / 300 feet. Which is not bad at all, by the way.

Inside the new Edox CO-1 Titanium Chronograph is a battery powered Edox caliber 102. It is a quartz movement based on the Ronda 5030.D with an average battery-life of 54 months. Long enough for a lot of dives.
