With the Edox Delfin Mecano Automatic Beige-Orange the Swiss brand presents its nineth color variation for their so called Urban Diver Watch. Which tells you it’s not a real diver to observe whales with, but scuba diving is fine. Check this to remind yourself what and how about the water resistance of watches in general.

The beige with orange gives the partly open-worked dial stylish looks and it shows the black PVD coated case even more. The size is just what you want for a skeletonized model: all essential parts can be seen during their work. The screw-down crown and reinforced case back will keep the water out, helped by Edox’ double O-ring seal system. This system, patented in 1961, has two gaskets made of rubber and nylons that form a watertight seal between the crown and the case of the watch. Which enables the wearer to wind the watch or set the time under water. So the Edox Delfin Mecano Automatic Beige-Orange hits the mayor features for a serious water sports watch.

Inside the Edox Delfin Mecano Automatic Beige-Orange you will find a Sellita SW200 based movement that is adjusted and partly open-worked by Edox. Of course the watch comes on a rubber strap.

The Delfin series is not new. In 1961 Edox launches their first Delfin, with the patented crown-system, giving that automatic a 200 meters water resistance. In 1965 the brand launches an even more serious diver, the Edox Deflin Hydro-Sub with a whooping 500 meters of water resistance. The Hydro Sub is a separated series nowadays. And in the 1970s the brand also launches quartz versions of the Delfin with 200 meters of water resistance. Now that model has a bezel with 12 sides and that has become a signature of the current Delfin line-up.

Lately, several Delfin models were launched, from chronographs to pink versions with a date, all with this dodecagonal (12-sided) bezel.
