This Casio Edifice Mugen Edition is the result of the collaboration between the two Japanese brands. And for those of you who don’t know Mugen: it’s what AMG is for Mercedes or the M division for BMW. A sort of sub company, officially named M-TEC Company, Ltd. Which is the so called Honda works brand. They are active in motor sports, like the Formula One, but could also have spiced-up your Civic.

This year Mugen is 50 years young, a good moment to celebrate that with this Casio ECB-40MU. So you will get a carbon reinforced case, the Mugen logo on the dial and a race related Alcantara strap. And the lugs are inspired by the suspension of Formula race cars. Sure.

The Casio Edifice Mugen Edition works on batteries

The Casio caliber 5708 provides a numerous amount of functions like a world timer, stopwatch, alarm and full calendar. Pair it with your smartphone by Bluetooth to sync the time and other stuff like alarms for your appointments. Always works smooth and the Casio app is easy to use.

The quartz movement of the Casio Edifice Mugen Edition is powered by a battery – apparently the solar charging system Casio uses for their G-shocks could not be mounted. Because that provides some extra charging comfort while the battery of this quartz has a life of approximately 24 months. Which is still sufficient though.
