The Blancpain Villeret Traditional Chinese Calendar 2024 is a timepiece designed for the Year of the Dragon. It is an evolution of the first Villeret Traditional Chinese Calendar launched twelve years ago, also for the Year of the Dragon. As the Dragon has a 12-year cycle in Chinese astrology, which is deeply rooted in Chinese culture and philosophy. The reason why this year is the Year of the Dragon again. The wooden dragon to be precise.

This Villeret version has a 45.2-millimeter red gold case displaying a green grand feu enamel dial. Which differs a bit from the 2012 model which has a white dial. It shares the movement though. And therefor the complications are the same with a lunisolar (Chinese calendar system) and Gregorian calendar, along with a moon phase.

The Blancpain Villeret Traditional Chinese Calendar 2024 has a power reserve of 168 hours

Inside is the automatic Blancpain caliber 3638, complete with a red gold winding rotor adorned with a Dragon motif. Which is visible through its sapphire case back, allowing the owner to admire the intricate details. The entire calendar mechanism runs on Blancpain’s special three-barrel engine. Which keeps it going for a full week without needing to be wound.

The Blancpain Villeret Traditional Chinese Calendar 2024 comes on a brown alligator leather strap secured with a red gold folding clasp. The new Villaret is limited to 50 pieces.
