The Baume & Mercier Riviera 10716 is par of B&M’s Riviera series and available in several colors and with several complications. The series first debuted in 1973 and got its last update in 2021 with the 5th generation. In 2023 it celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Riviera – named after the French costal line know as Riviera. And after 50 years it still has a twelve-sided bezel, a signature feature for the model.
It is not only the shape of the bezel that is special, also the color setting is cool. The unidirectional rotating bezel is polished and executed in sun-satin stainless steel with a blue lacquered treatment. This indicates 15 minutes. The ring of the bezel is blue anodized aluminum for easy use. The sapphire dial is smoky blue and decorated with a wavy pattern to underline the water sporty character of the watch.
The Baume & Mercier Riviera 10716 has a power reserve of 120 hours
Visible through its sapphire case back is the automatic Baume & Mercier caliber BM13-1975A which is one of the in-house Baumatic movements of the brand. It operates at a frequency of 4 Hz delivering a power reserve of 5 days or 120 hours. It also has a magnetic resistance up to 1500 Gauss.
The Baume & Mercier Riviera 10716 comes on a Dark blue rubber strap with a triple folding buckle. It is also available with a steel bracelet (ref. 10747). If you want a black dial version with black elements on a steel bracelet, go for the ref 10717. You’ll find it at B&M’s website.
