Three new Alpina Startimer Pilot Automatic Chronograph models are launched. The Startimer collection was first launched in 2011 and is claimed to be one of the most recognized professional pilot watch collections on the market. Being so, the watches meet the strict requirements of a pilot watch like an anti-magnetic case, shock resistances, precision and instant readability.

Air Force, Naval Aviation and Bush Flying are the themes for the Alpina Startimer Pilot Automatic Chronograph

To ensure the latter Alpina chose a vertical “bi-compax” counter layout for their newest model. In other words: the running seconds counter at 9 o’clock has been hidden. The 30-minute chronograph counter is at 12 o’clock and the 12-hour chronograph at 6 o’clock together creating the vertical “bi-compax”.

The new Startimer features a variation on the well-known Valjoux 7750 chronograph movement: the automatic AL-725. It has a 46-hours power reserve and beats at 28,800 vph. The sapphire crystal of the 44-millimeter stainless steel case is scratchproof and anti-reflective. The case features a large pilot screwed-in crown and the watch is water-resistant up to 100 meters.

With the watch Alpina honours the three different fields of aviation: Air Force, Naval Aviation and Bush Flying. Each of them symbolized by the colours of the dial of the three models. A black dial for the Air Force, Petrol Blue symbolizing Naval Aviation and Military Green for Bush Flying. All models feature the distinct Alpina red triangle symbol on the dial at 12 o’clock. To create the best readability possible the dials feature oversized luminous numerals and luminous hands.
