This Ulysse Nardin Diver Le Locle is a retro no-nonsense diver inspired by a model from 1964. A black dial, a black rotating bezel and clear indexes and hands, what more do you need?
Back in the 1960s divers were smaller than these days. The old model has a 38-millimeter case, this Ulysse Nardin Diver Le Locle is 42.2 millimeters. And the old model features a central seconds hand, the new model has the seconds at a subdial at the 6 o’clock position. Like the old model, at 3 o’clock there is a date display, with a magnifier for the updated version.
The Ulysse Nardin Diver Le Locle is a great diver, but so is a Sea-Dweller for just a little more…
A great vintage diver except for the price. It’s almost 10k and if you look at alternative retro divers there is a lot of choice. The new Rolex Sea-Dweller for instance. Or a Tudor Pelagos for half the price. And even an Oris Divers Sixty-Five appeals to the same design and retro style, for less than 2k. Sure, its movement is not the same but it looks great too and offers the same functionality.
If you are looking for a modern diver with a maximum water-resistance of 100 meters / 330 feet and vintage looks, the Ulysse Nardin Diver Le Locle won’t disappoint you. But there are so much other models that can make you happy as well. With better specs (Rolex) or a more attractive price (Tudor and Oris). Just take a look at our recently featured divers…
