The Laureato stood out for its distinctive octagonal bezel, which set it apart from its competitors and became a defining feature of the collection.

Designed by an Italian architect (we could not find his/her name), the original Laureato combined a sleek, modern aesthetic with technical precision. The name “Laureato” means “graduate” in Italian, symbolizing excellence and achievement, both in design and craftsmanship.

The collection initially featured a quartz movement, reflecting the technological innovations of the 1970s. But over time, mechanical movements became the hallmark of the line.

Revitalized Laureato collection

In 2016, Girard-Perregaux revitalizes the Laureato collection, reintroducing it as a core part of the brand’s offerings. The updated Laureato models retained the iconic octagonal bezel and integrated bracelet but were enhanced with more refined finishes, advanced in-house movements, and modern materials.

The collection now includes a range of models, from simple time-only pieces to complex complications such as chronographs and tourbillons.
