The Roger Dubuis Orbis in Machina is a central mono-tourbillon, which comes with a challenge: where to put the hands? Leave that up to RD as they developed flanges and discs around the tourbillon to indicate hours, minutes and seconds. They call it “flying hands”. Take a good look at the dial and you’ll find them.

How does the Orbis in Machina work? Well, the seconds hand is coupled to the central 60-seconds tourbillon, pointing at a grey disc. As the dial is three-dimensional, the next layer shows the minutes, on another disc. And lower there is a grey double surface flange with hour markers. Both hours and minutes are pointed out by an open worked, double-sided hand in brass pink gold plated. There is super-luminova on the inner faces and they are both fixed on a rotating disc.

The Roger Dubuis Orbis in Machina has a power reserve of 72 hours

The tech inside is the Roger Dubuis caliber RD115, a manual-winding skeleton movement with a power reserve of 72 hours. This finish level is Poinçon de Genève certification, so every surface of every component is treated. As the case back is sapphire you will have a view on the gears around the tourbillon that are driving the hours and minutes.

The Roger Dubuis Orbis in Machina comes on a black calf leather strap, which is easy interchangeable thanks to a quick release system. The triple folding buckle is from 750/1000 pink gold and the watch is limited to 88 pieces. And only available in the boutiques of Roger Dubuis.
