Quick specs Roger Dubuis Excalibur Spider Skeleton Flying Tourbillon Americas Edition Price: $ 167,500 | approx. € 154.000 Size: 45 mm Reference: RDDBEX0549 |
Is there anything new to mention about the Roger Dubuis Excalibur Spider Skeleton Flying Tourbillon Americas Edition? To be honest, not that much. This limited edition is sold only in the New York boutique (545 Madison Avenue) hence the reference to America. Also new are the red and yellow accents on the watch. So safe to say Dubuis is using this model to conquer the USA by giving them their own limited edition watch.
The Roger Dubuis Excalibur Spider Skeleton Flying Tourbillon Americas Edition is limited to 20 pieces
Though the newest addition to the Dubuis Excalibur Spider family doesn’t showcase technical innovation we can’t help to be mesmerized by the craftsmanship the watch shows. To refresh the memory: Roger Dubuis is the only brand with its entire production stamped with the Hallmark of Geneva. That counts for something doesn’t it?
The skeletonized Spider models derive their name from similarities they bear with a spider’s web. The watchmakers of Dubuis managed to skeletonize not only the movement but also the case, flange, and hands.
So this new Spider features the same hand-wound RD505SQ calibre with a flying tourbillon and a 60-hour power reserve as its predecessors. It has a 42-millimetre titanium case and a white rubber strap with a titanium buckle. Always tricky with skeletonized watches is the legibility. This Spider has the tips of its hands white filled and red lined. Only 20 pieces are made.
