Patek Philippe is introducing a new member of the Aquanaut collection, the Patek Philippe Aquanaut Luce Annual Calendar Ref. 5261R-001. The series was first launched in 1997, with its signature case that has a rounded octagonal shape, which obviously got its inspiration from the Nautilus. 

This model is dressed in a 39.9-millimeter rose gold case with a rose gold bezel manifesting a blue-gray dial embossed with Aquanaut pattern. This matches the gold applied numerals with white luminescent coating. On the dial the annual calendar is shown with a complete day/date/month display. Adjustment is only needed once a year, at the end of February.

The moon phase, positioned at 12 o’clock, is indicated by a disc cut from a wafer of corundum crystal. Two golden moons are shown on a blue background – the gold was condensed onto the disc through a vacuum process of a photographic mask for creating these moons and its surrounding stars.

Turning the watch provides a view of the automatic Patek Philippe caliber 26-330 S QA LU which can be admired through the sapphire case back. The 21K gold central rotor helps to achieve a power reserve of at least 35 hours up to 45 hours.

To complete the Patek Philippe Aquanaut Luce Annual Calendar Ref. 5261R-001, it comes on a composite, blue-gray strap with patented fold-over clasp. Oh, and it is marked as a ladies watch, but given the size of the case, don’t bother about that.
