The Patek Philippe Alarm Travel Time Ref. 5520RG is the more classic version of Patek’s ultimate travel watch. It was earlier launched in platinum with a black dial and black strap (reference 5520P-001). This time it has a two-tone rose gold case featuring four subtle white gold pusher tubes combined with a sunburst grey dial.

The alarm function is on top of the dial, in white, and can be adjusted in steps of 15 minutes. The bell aperture above it indicates if the alarm is active, the round aperture just under it can be set to white (alarm at daytime) or blue (alarm at nighttime). The alarm itself has a hammer that strikes a classic gong. The hammer and the working of it can be seen through the transparent case back and it is just loud enough to wake you up.

Local time and second time zone with day/night indication

The sunburst dial also sports a day/night indication for your local time as well as your home time in two round apertures. Blue for nighttime, white for daytime. The second time zone, normally your home time, is indicated by the skeletonized GMT hand.

At the 6 o’clock position is a large sub dial that indicates the date with a hand. This date is indexed to the local time. At the edge of the dial is a charcoal grey minutes or seconds track.
