The Omega Seamaster Ploprof 1200M 55 X 45 MM Summer Blue is another very blue Omega celebrating 75 years of the Seamaster. And the Ploprof is the most massive Seamaster you can get these days. It’s 5.5 centimeters wide and 4.5 centimeters high, more than 1.5 centimeters thick and it weights errr, we don’t know. It’s not in Omega’s specs but you can count on it that you will feel this watch when wearing it.

Although the Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean 6000M 45.5 MM Ultra Deep Summer Blue from the same blue series is able to go much deeper, the Ploprof is a very serious diver. The name is derived from the French words for professional diver: Plongeur Professional. A bit of glue and fantasy creates the word Ploprof, good for a huge watch that can deep dive up to 1,200 meter / 4,000 feet.

The model features a sun-brushed dial, dressed in a 55 x 45-millimeter steel case. The bi-directional bezel is made from a transparent sapphire crystal, varnished in blue on the back side to highlight the light blue diving scale beneath. It has a mono-bloc case with a screw-in crown with protection on the left of the watch. On the right is a security pusher placed near the 2 o’clock position and enhanced with a blue ceramic ring. The hands, including the GMT hand, and indexes are filled with light blue super-luminova, just like the other Summer Blue models.

Inside the impressive case of the Omega Seamaster Ploprof 1200M 55 X 45 MM Summer Blue betas Omega’s automatic caliber 8912 with a power reserve of 60 hours. It is METAS certified so it has successfully passed the tests to earn the distinction ‘Master Chronometer’. On the steel case back you will find the same engravings as on all other Summer Blue models: the old and new Seamaster logo and the Greek God Poseidon with its trident.
